Sequence of events -- 2002 Nov. Sailboat launched after blister job, sand blast, out of water for 7 months, epoxy, barrier coat, and anti-fouling paint applied according to manufacturers directions.
2003- Oct boat out of the water for cleaning, paint, and insurance survey to switch insurance companies. 2004-May boat struck by lightning. 3 months after being struck, boat was hauled. After pressure washing and cleaning hull for new bottom paint, pine holes exuded a brown sticky substance, didn't smell. Tested with ph strips, results were around 5. After another month, virtually no pin holes are visible and only a few places can the substance will be seen. Is the bottom problem due to lightning strike or what?????
