the hulls of my catamaran were built in 1975 on formers over which was laid foam and layers of polyester and glass (chopped strand & woven)finaly resin top layer. The finished boat was not launched until 1995 so the hulls should be well cured. When I bought the boat in 1999 the owner said it had been coated in epoxy resin, to prevent osmosis,in 1997 or 1998.I anti fouled it and it seemed fine. It has been in Seville (Spain)in fresh water for 18 months on lifting out we have found some small pimples in some areas that have been diagnosed as osmosis I think correctly so(acid smell on punchturing some pimples). The yard are Quoteing me 6000 euros for treatment but will this peeling and coating again with epoxy cure the problem or make it worse?
