I have just hauled my boat out and discovered
a number of small blisters in the paint over the
gelcoat but none in the gelcoat itself. The gelcoat
has a layer of primer over it, then about three
layers of Interspeed 2000 (hard) and it had 4 layers
of CSC Micron (ablative) which eventually wore away.
The liquid in the blisters does smell vinegary.
The boat is a 1982 Maxi 108 and there don't
seem to be any previous osmosis repairs to it.
Since the gelcoat isn't affected, is this osmosis,
and do I need to consider treatment before anything
else? Also I am in Malta, and in the event I need
HYAB attention which is the closest place to turn to?
Many thanks for your attention
